When providing services, selling goods and operating the website, we process certain personal data.
The processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data (GDPR) and other relevant legal regulations.
1. Processing of personal data when using the contact form
If you contact us via the contact form or by e-mail, we will process the data you provide to us, in particular your first name, last name, e-mail address, phone number and possibly other information included in the message.
We process this data for the purpose of communicating with the customer and handling their inquiry. The legal basis for processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR – negotiation of a contract or taking steps prior to entering into a contract.
If no contract is concluded, we store this data for a maximum period of 3 years from the last communication.
2. Processing of personal data during a purchase
If you make a purchase from us, we process the data necessary to process your order. This includes in particular your first name, last name, address, e-mail address, phone number and possibly other data necessary for the execution of the order.
This data is necessary for the performance of the contract – delivery of the ordered goods, communication regarding the order, handling complaints and fulfilling legal obligations (for example accounting and tax regulations).
The legal basis for processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Article 6(1)(c) GDPR (compliance with a legal obligation).
Data related to the order is stored for 10 years from the completion of the order.
3. Newsletters and marketing communications
If you are our customer and you have not opted out during the purchase, we may use your e-mail address to send information about news and offers.
The legal basis is Section 7(3) of Act No. 480/2004 Coll., on certain information society services.
We store the e-mail address for marketing purposes for 3 years from the last purchase. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the e-mail or by contacting us at info@equator-cycling.com.
4. Recipients of personal data
To ensure the operation of the e-shop and the provision of services, we use certain external service providers. Personal data may be made available to these entities only to the extent necessary for the performance of their services.
- Shoptet a.s. – e-shop platform provider
- GLS – courier company providing parcel delivery
- Comgate a.s. – payment gateway provider
- Providers of marketing and analytics services (e.g. Google, Meta)
- Providers of e-mail and marketing tools
Personal data is processed primarily within the territory of the European Union.

We use cookies on our website to help ensure the proper functioning of the site, analyze traffic and customize marketing.
In particular, we use the following types of cookies: necessary cookies, analytical cookies and marketing cookies. Analytical and marketing cookies are used only on the basis of your consent.
